pietà
I was sitting in my tutorial class for Art History yesterday, when my TA brought up Michelangelo’s sculpture of the Pietà. Staring at the image being project on the screen, I suddenly found myself overwhelmed - a feeling that I have never felt before for any type of art work.
It was absolutely mesmerizing, beautiful and profound all at the same time. The defeated Jesus lying on The Virgin Mary’s body, the immaculate smoothness of her face, the drapery of her clothes and the meaning behind it - it made me speechless.
To the point that tears started to well up in my eyes when my professor decided to play a short video on the history of Michelangelo when creating this masterpiece. It is no wonder that when people saw such a rare gem of an art piece that their faith in religion is revived. It was almost as if Michelangelo witnessed this secular event, sculpted it right before his eyes so that we too can share that same experience hundreds of years later.

#1 I smile at those moments when someone makes a noise that sounds like a fart but isn’t actually one. And you tease that person. But they argue that it’s the squeaky chair they are sitting on. They try to mimick the sound once again to prove their point, but spectacularly fail at doing so.
I’m not quite sure why, but I have never thought she was pretty. She gives good face in front of the camera for sure but not someone I’d necesarilly have a girl crush on.

rock parlour
Went to the Tattoo Rock Parlour last night.
Pros:
- Nothing.
Cons:
- Long ass line.
- Stupid girls who tried to cut the line with us.
- Music consisted of fairly modern un-remixed rock. Snooze.
- No where to sit except for the “VIP” sections that weren’t really VIP.
- The toilet was ridiculously hard to find.
- The floor was wet???
- Sausage fest.
- Paul was being a downer.
I left the club thinking it was okay, I woke up and well obviously thought different. At least I tried it out. Probably won’t be going there again.

I’m not embarassed for not being a trend setter. I don’t mind that I’d rather copy than to set the pavement for others to follow my path. I don’t think I’m a leader and I’m very happy with that. I like being able to assist rather than be the one that gets the blame when the shit hits the fan. Leaders might make more money than I do, but honest to God I am sure I am much happier than they are.

1. Gave enthusiastic fan Ruby’s spare ticket. He paid $40 for it. He saw us at the bar and did this weird giggle.

4. Remembering this one dude that went “woooohhh” every few minutes. He was annoying.
